Seeking Shape

A series of mixed media drawings using shapes collected, recalled and evolved from the winter of 2023. These shape originated in nature or every-day observations. From false eyelashes to tropical fish, arable crops to punctuation marks. The task is to notice, collect and let shapes evolve.

Ripples

Five drawings which relate to 'Blanket'. With the benefit of hindsight I understand that making 'Blanket' was connected to the loss of a friend. These drawings relate to feelings of grief transforming, moving through stages.

These small drawings are part of a continuing project which takes its starting point from the creation of 'Bale' a three-dimensional drawing made with fabric and baling twine. Drawing, weaving and the body seem inter-related.
